Drawing from their own business experiences, both Carol and Ian will offer invaluable insights from their personal journeys, delving into pivotal decisions and the invaluable lessons derived from them. Following Carol and Ian's individual workshops, they will join us together for an engaging fireside chat where active participation and questions will be welcomed. My Business Journey | Carol Duncumb Esteemed Non-Executive Director and Business Mentor, Carol brings a wealth of expertise with a demonstrated history of cultivating owner-managed businesses in the dynamic realm of consumer technology. With over 35 years of invaluable experience, Carol boasts a remarkable journey of growing, managing, funding, and successfully selling businesses. Renowned for her strong interpersonal acumen, Carol is a seasoned professional skilled in the arts of negotiation, business planning and development, as well as crafting robust sales and marketing strategies. Her particular passion lies in the ever-evolving domains of consumer technology, online retailing, and brand building. My Business Journey | Ian Filby Ian Filby was appointed Non-Executive Chairman at Pendragon in 2021 following eight years as Chief Executive Officer at DFS plc. He is also a member of the British Retail Consortium Board and Chairman of the British Retail Consortium Policy Board, Trustee of Pennies charity, Chairman of Her Spirit and Director of IFF Life and Business Solutions Ltd.
Ian has more than 40 years’ retail experience, primarily at Alliance Boots, where his last two roles were Retail Brand Development
Director and Trading Director. He has also held the roles of Non Executive Chairman of Joules, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Nectar
and Non-Executive Chairman of Shoe Zone plc.
